About the Festival

It is not difficult to convene, that Israel Galván is not only an advanced flamenco dancer, his way of doing has become a means, a unique form of understanding flamenco. It’s no wonder that around him are appearing modern and ancient, flamenco and contemporary artists, who have been strang in the eye of Galvan’s needle. At the same time, a galaxy and a carpet. This rag has been shaped as a singular path. The floor is woven forming his own warp: old wool pieces drawn the artists that are accompanying Galvan in Fla.Co.Men and the latest silks, Patricia Caballero or El Niño de Elche, are new threads, which the dancer is tangling and intertwining. Let’s take a look to the smooth and striated textures. Israel Galván is a tapestry.

About Equilibrio Arcaico

Wind and falling stones are condensing a posture of deep listening during the Prelude of Equilibrio Arcaico.

Minako Seki, invokes the tension, equilibrium and the resonance involved on the gestures, cutting through the knowledge of the fragile line between the conscious and the unconscious. She creates a dance for a suspended state, embracing the heights and the depths of the human experience.

What have in common the complex network of our nervous system, the strings of a guitar and a spiderweb?

They weave, entwine and connect, they all vibrate and create reverberation, breakable and delicate they celebrate complicity. They are also the core images in which Minako Seki dives to connect tradition and contemporaneity, she mixes the similarities and differences between Spain and Japan: friendship, histories, sorrows and prays, ghosts, dreams, weakness, contradictions, hands and dedication; yesterday, today and tomorrow.

A Japanese folk song por Bulerías.

“Y estás: en el vacío
y en la ausencia presente,
en la que es y vive
sin dejar de ser única
oquedad invisible
con raíces eternas.
No hay mundo que la llene
pero sí algo vivo
que la besa y la calma.”

Ernestina de Champourcín
Spanish poetess of the “Generación del 27”
